Our Mission

At Silver Paws Golden Days Co Sanctuary, our mission is to give senior and special needs animals the love, dignity, and second chances they deserve.

We’re here for the ones often overlooked—the dogs with gray muzzles, medical needs, or mobility issues. The ones that others might pass by because they need more time, more care, or a softer place to land. To us, they are never “too old” or “too broken.” They are worthy.

Our sanctuary is a place where every animal is met with compassion, comfort, and unconditional love—whether they’re with us for days or years. We believe that every animal deserves golden days, and we’re here to make sure they get them.

Though we're based in Norman, Oklahoma, our reach extends far beyond, rescuing animals across the state and throughout the Midwest—with plans to help even more seniors in need as we grow. And we’re just getting started.

Thanks to our incredible foster families, we’re able to open our doors even wider. These lifesaving homes give senior and special needs animals the chance to decompress, heal, and receive one-on-one love while we search for just the right forever match—or recognize that they’ve already found it.

And for the dogs who may never be adopted due to age or ongoing medical needs, we created the Comfort Club—our forever foster program. Through the Comfort Club, we cover medical care while our fosters provide the love and stability of a real home. It’s how we make senior pet ownership possible for more people and ensure that even the most vulnerable dogs get to live out their lives as part of a family.

We believe every animal deserves to feel safe, seen, and cherished in their golden years—and we won’t stop until no senior or special needs animal spends their final days in a shelter, unwanted and unloved.
